SOLEDO (the "App") is a mobile app (iOS and Android) for tracking the remaining life of your
running shoes. The App works without any account or sign-up. It contains no advertising or
tracking SDKs, and we never sell your data to third parties. For operational monitoring, the App
sends only the app version and the fact that the first launch completed — once per install,
with nothing that identifies you.
2. Where Your Data Is Stored (Your Device + Your Own Cloud)
Your shoes, run records, shoe photos, and settings are stored on your
device and in your own private cloud space — on iOS, your private iCloud database
(tied to your Apple Account, via CloudKit); on Android, this app's dedicated folder in Google
Drive (tied to your Google Account, hidden from your Drive files and from other apps). Syncing
and backup exist to move data between your devices and restore it after reinstalling.
Your runner profile used for AI recommendations (weight, foot size, and usual running
surface) is stored only on your current device. It is excluded from iCloud sync,
Google Drive backup, and device-to-device transfer.
This data is never stored on the developer's servers, and the developer cannot view or
access it.
Storage and transmission are handled by your cloud provider (Apple or Google) and governed by
that provider's privacy policy. If you are not signed in to your cloud account, or you have
turned sync/backup off, data stays on your device only.
3. Health Data (Apple Health on iOS, Health Connect on Android)
Only with your permission, the App reads your running workouts (distance, duration, average
heart rate) from your health app on a read-only basis — Apple Health (HealthKit) on
iOS, and Health Connect on Android, the hub where apps like Samsung Health, Garmin, and
Strava deposit your workouts. It never requests write access.
Health data is never sent to the developer's servers and is never used for advertising or
marketing.
Detailed records of runs imported from your health app (distance, date) are stored on your
device only and are never stored in the cloud (they are also excluded from iCloud
device backups and from the Google Drive backup). Only each shoe's accumulated mileage and
assignment identifiers are synced.
On a new device, detailed records are restored automatically from your health app's data.
4. Strava Integration (Optional)
This section applies only if you choose to connect your Strava account.
Once connected, the App imports your running activities (date, distance, duration, route,
heart rate, etc.) from the Strava API on a read-only basis.
Your connection token is stored encrypted on the developer's server (Cloudflare).
Activity data is cached temporarily on your device for display only and is never
stored on the developer's servers.
Data imported from Strava is never sent to or used by the AI lifespan recommendation
feature.
When you disconnect in the App, or revoke this App's access in your Strava settings, the
connection record on our server is deleted immediately (and in any case within 30 days).
The activity cache on your device is deleted when you disconnect in the App or delete
the App.
Strava may itself collect usage data about your use of the Strava API; see Strava's
privacy policy for details.
For questions about the Strava integration, use the contact under "Your Rights &
Contact" below.
5. AI Lifespan Recommendation (Optional)
Only when you use the "AI recommendation" feature, the minimum information needed is sent to
the developer's server: your weight, foot size (if you entered one), the shoe's brand and model,
its purpose, and your usual running surface.
No personally identifying information (name, contact details, account) is sent. A
random install identifier — which cannot be traced to a person or account — is sent to
manage usage limits.
The information is used solely to generate the recommendation and to cache results for
identical or similar requests (to avoid recomputation). The cache contains no identifiers.
Processors: the server runs on Cloudflare (global edge network), and recommendations are
generated using OpenAI's language model API (United States). Your information may therefore
be processed outside your country.
6. Photos
Shoe photos and retirement photos are stored on your device and in your own cloud space
(Section 2). Background removal runs entirely on your device and the photo never leaves it
during that step (Apple Vision on iOS, Google ML Kit on Android — both process on-device). When you
use the share feature, photos go only to recipients you choose.
AI photo cleanup (optional): Only when you explicitly choose "Let AI keep just the shoe"
on a photo taken while wearing the shoe, that single photo is sent via our server to OpenAI (USA)
for image generation. The app informs you and asks for consent before sending. The original photo
is never stored on our server; only the processed result image is kept for up to 7 days to avoid
re-processing the same photo, then deleted. If you don't use this feature, your photos never leave
your device.
7. Payments
The lifetime pass is purchased through the store (Apple App Store on iOS, Google Play on
Android). The App never collects payment information. The 14-day free trial requires no payment
method, so no payment details are involved during the trial.
PacePlan free report benefit (optional): When a lifetime-pass holder requests this benefit,
the App sends the store transaction identifier (the iOS transaction ID or Android purchase token)
and app language to our server to verify eligibility. Our server verifies the purchase with Apple or
Google and does not separately store the purchase identifier. After verification, only a one-way
hashed benefit identifier, platform, and language are sent to PacePlan. This information is used only
to prevent duplicate benefit issuance and issue the code. Payment method information, running
records, and health data are not sent to PacePlan.
8. Website Analytics
The official SOLEDO website uses browser session storage to avoid counting the same visit more
than once. Page variant, device type (iOS, Android, or other), and App Store or Google Play link
clicks are stored in Cloudflare D1 only as daily aggregate counts. The analytics database
does not store names, email addresses, accounts, IP addresses, advertising or device identifiers,
running or health data, and the website does not use cookies.
9. Deleting Your Data
Using Me > Delete All Data inside the App erases the data on your device and the
copy held in your cloud space — on iOS the deletion propagates through iCloud; on Android
the backup stored in your Google Drive is deleted (and the App's backup access is revoked).
Simply uninstalling the App removes the data stored on your device, but the cloud copy may
remain. You can delete it yourself — on iOS, in Settings > [your name] > iCloud >
Manage Account Storage (or by turning off iCloud for the App); on Android, in the Google Drive
app's settings, by deleting this app's app data.
The AI recommendation cache contains no personal identifiers; deletion requests can be sent
to the contact below.
10. Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region).
11. Your Rights & Contact
You may request access to or deletion of your data (most data lives on your device and in your
own cloud space, where you control it directly). Contact: steve.kim.0417@gmail.com
12. Changes
If this policy changes, we will announce it in the App or on this page.
